When accepting a referral from Ocean, it will follow your standard EMHware referral acceptance process. EMHware will update the status of the referral in Ocean automatically, based on the configuration of your EMHware programs and the status of the client in their client journey.

When the status of the Ocean Referral is updated in EMHware, the update will reflect in the corresponding client record in Ocean.

1. In EMHware > a. select Global Referrals tab > b. select Referral from records list.

2. a. Select Referred to Program from dropdown list > b. select Accept (or Decline if applicable).

3. When Accepted > Referral Details will display Accepted status and the referred patient will become an agency client.

4. Select Link on Referral Details page to view submitted Referral and Attachments.

5. a. Select Client name link and the client’s file will open > b. select Program History > once the Referral is accepted, a First Contact program history will open in the client’s file for the selected Referred to program.

6. In EMHware, when the Program History status is changed to Receiving Services, the referral status in Ocean changes to Complete.

7. a. If a client is Discontinued from a referred to program on EMHware > b. This is updated in Ocean for the Referrer in the Messaging section of the referral.
