Select Worker - Dashboard
AnsweredOn the dashboard, the default worker populates as the logged‑in user, but staff can manually select another worker. Is it possible to add a permission setting to control who can change this field? Although this option existed previously, the new layout makes it more prominent, and we want to ensure only designated staff can use it.
The concern is that, by selecting another worker, staff can hover over contact notes and preview information for any client who has a recorded contact. Because our database includes many clients, this could result in a breach of information if staff are able to view files not assigned to them. Restricting access to this feature to those in leadership and admin, would help us avoid potential privacy issues.

Hi Lindsay,
Thanks for sharing this feedback!
The ability to switch to another worker’s dashboard is controlled by the same permission used in the legacy UI (“Enabled - All > Worker Selection – Ability to see all other workers' work, i.e., dashboard, scheduler, contacts, active clients list etc.). Users without this permission cannot switch workers or view another worker’s calendar or work in the platform.
If your agency wants to limit what staff can see even when they have this permission, the existing privacy layers can help. Privacy settings at the Program, Client, and Worker levels allow you to restrict which clients, program data, and records a user can view, even if they are able to switch workers on the dashboard. Many agencies use this combination to allow calendar visibility while still protecting sensitive client information.
I recommend reviewing our Privacy & Restrictions articles in the How to Use the Administration Section of the Help Centre, as these settings can help ensure your current setup aligns with your agency’s privacy requirements.
That said, I understand the interest in having a more granular permission specific to the Dashboard worker selector. I’ve added your feedback to our general feature request backlog for review.

Thank you for your reply and forwarding the feedback for more granular permission specific. For the time being, we will work with the permissions and see if it alters anything required for our staff.
Thanks again!
Lindsay
