report on contacts that works across programs and functional centres, and shows format
I have a rec staff that works for programs in both of our functional centres, doing both individual and group interactions. Many of the group interactions have multiple staff, so he is often an added worker. I need a report I can run about this staff, to show how many interactions he was part of, and which format, across all programs.

HI Marilyn,
I think there's a pre-built report that would work.
Under the report group Contact Lists > Detailed Contacts by Activity with GroupingSet the date range parameters, select either the specific activity types and programs you're interested in (or Select All) and select the worker you want to track. This should generate a really detailed list of activities, both direct and indirect service, connected to the programs, clients, and the duration of each activity.
I just caution that if you export to work with the data in Excel, the duration values can sometimes shift from a time format to a general number format, so you may get weird totals.
Cheers!

Hi Rachel, thanks, but...
Managers want to be able to see a report that shows the different methods for each staff on their teams during a period (face to face vs phone). Most of my managers are not comfortable with the process to transform a list of contacts into a summary. When I tell them they have to export to CSV, save as to Excel, and then use Data-sorting, formulas, or pivot tables, they check out. They don't have the time, the skills or the inclination to fiddle-fart with the data like that. The Worker Contacts Metric was an actual report, not just a list of contacts.
I ran the Contact Lists > Detailed Contacts by Activity with Grouping report you suggested, for 1 staff, Amanda Venetelli, program HM - Mobile 2, dates June 1 to 30. Run results in 59 records. This is the same # and data that we see when we search in contacts. I'm not seeing the value of using this report over having them continue searching in contacts.
I'm looking for a report like the Worker Contact Metrics that a manager can use for their supervision meetings.

Hi Marilyn, thank you for your post! Although it's been a while since your post, if you're still looking for a report, have you tried the Contacts Activity/Method Report?
It includes Contacts during a selected period with optional program(s) and worker(s), which are grouped by activities and methods.
